Roaring River sits in a very narrow valley in southern Missouri and is known for its premier trout fishing. Rugged mountain-like terrain and a deep blue spring that pumps out 20 million gallons of water per day gives the river its 55°F water temperature and makes it ideal for camping and trout fishing. 3 campgrounds are available in the "on season". This is a trout park, so during trout season the campground can get full. I went at the end of the season in October and there were only about a dozen campsites still available. Great atmosphere for families. Great fishing. Good hiking trails, not to technical. Very pet friendly! Campground 1 is open year round. Camp sites good and level. This is in a valley so it tends to be colder in the valley than the surrounding areas. No cell service in the valley. Overall very clean. Great campground, if you do not want swimming pools and shuffle board head to Roaring river. To see photos go to http://www.pawprintsthemagazine.com/?p=32

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. It has a nice trout stream and the kids like to watch the fish at the hatchery. Campground 1 is our favorite area, it's very quiet and low traffic.

just came back from there, stayed in campground 3, great shower facility. They now have a store but it is very pricey. we have been there at least 4 times with our kids, it is by far our favorite place to camp.

I have camped here 2 times once when I was growing up with my parents and then about 4 years ago. If you like to trout fish it is a good place to be.

Nice State Park campground based around a trout fishing stream and hatchery. Nice shaded sites with clean bathhouses. We have stayed here 2 times. It is fun to watch them stock the trout every nite to replace the ones caught. The campground has electricity and water to fill your holding tanks, and dump stations. It is in the Ozark mountains in Southern Missouri not too far from Branson. Happy Camping Danny and Reta.
