We camped there with our friends (ec3forme)and other families. Next time, I will spend a little more money and stay up the road at the Lodge campground so that we will have pool access, water, and sewer services.

We camped here for nearly a week in loop A. They are building new bathrooms, so if you camp summer 2010, you will likely hear them working on it starting at 7 each morning. There had recently been flooding in the area, so I am not sure if the heavy mosquito population was from that or if it's always that bad. There are skunks at night and black birds and squirrels during the day, all will go right into your campsite and take what they want, so don't leave anything out. We left a muffin in our little toaster oven with the door clicked shut and came back to muffin carnage and the door was hanging by one corner. The sites are narrow, the driveways to get into the sites are nearly all at bad angles and with trees, stumps, cross ties or ditches on either side, so no room for messing up. The roads are loose gravel, I spun out twice trying to maneuver my pop-up into place. We ended up unhooking and rolling her into the site, then had to prop up one side about 5 inches to get it level enough for the door to drop into place. The sites are NOT level in any direction. I would suggest site 6 to anyone who wants to camp there, it's large and level and has the most open access. The single pull-through site has a tree in the middle, so the folks camped there had to back in to keep from scraping it. We never once saw the campground hosts, but noise was not a problem during our trip. It's a good campground for groups, I'd leave the bikes and scooters at home-no where to ride them-the roads are steep and gravel. There is a swim beach at the campground, but it was flooded, so I can't give any information about it. We did enjoy our stay, despite the difficulty getting in and out of the site. There are 2 water spigots you could fill your tanks from, but no dump station, if you come in an RV, you will have to drive down below the planetarium to the nearest dump station-about 15 miles away.
