We had a good trip. This campground is very new, therefore, there are many plans in the future. The RV area does have trees with shade and some are very private. Many of the RV sites are pull-through. The tent area does not have any trees. Full hook-ups were fantastic. There are 2 trails. We took trail 2 which was the longer one. It was mostly walking thru prairie grasses with a 1/2 mi. walking by the creek. Bathrooms were new, big, clean and wonderful. RV pads are gravel and level. It was very quiet and relaxing. This would be a great place to camp if you were going to a Purdue football game. Also, there are gas stations and stores close by in case you need anything. |

We agree with giveahoot's review. We roasted in the sun on our trip to Prophetstown, there was NO shade and NO privacy between sites in the electric section. The working farm was fine but a long hike from the campground. When we visited, the Indian village was a joke. 1 lodge building, which was nice, with 3 small, empty, locked out-buildings. That was it. When we got to the "village" I kept saying "let's not stop here, let's keep going to the village". I was shocked when my husband said "Dear, I think this is it." We joked about maybe going back someday when we have grandchildren (our kids are 9-15 y/o)and the baby trees are big enough to offer some shade. |

This is by far one of our favorites spots. The park is rather new (2002), however they have some great plans going forward. Shaded tent sites, an inground pool, and many other upgrades. It is about not going in to debt that would cause the park to close. Check back for thier upgrades. The staff is great, and the naturalist that does the kids programs is awesome. We go every year. |

I do not know where the review of this campground came from ... but it is bogus ... Full modern hook-ups are avalible ....also electric only. Grand showers and super full connnection sites. Two nice hikes, great bike trail and the old farm is truley fun. Do not count this site out .. I am on my way tomarrow am ......it is great for the quick get away. |

Camping under the full sun prairie is the theme here. For some reason, they put the RV camping with full hook up in the old xmas tree farm area, and left us tent campers out in the full sun. They restrict camping onto this hard chipped stone pad, that resulted in us breaking 3 tent stakes just trying to set up in the howling wind we faced. The park is still very undeveloped, and there isn't much to do but bicycle around and visit the nearby battleground and Wolf Park. Maybe in a decade when more is developed, we'll be back. |
