Drawbacks: Park office is 100 feet above the campground on the highway up a steep road. The Liberty Bell Pool, built by the C.C.C. is fed by a natural spring. Cold and Clear it should be open. It is either less than one tenth of a mile hike through the woods, or a one half mile drive up and over the mountain. The country store has few supplies but has firewood. Any resturants are not within walking distance. In Pine Mountain, there are the Alpine Grill, Three Little Pigs, Fox Pizza, (they might deliver to the campground) Whistling Pig, (my favorite) Hunter's Pub (ask locals for directions) Vineyard Pub in the Callaway Gardens Motel drinks and good bar food, Country Kitchen for good southern food and Oscar's Seafood and Steaks on the way to the city of Warm Springs. You might want to avoid all others as I have spent months in the area and know both the menu, food, service and prices. Good Points: Very pretty fishing lake, enveloped by the mountain range there is no traffic noise, lots of hiking trails including the Pine Mountain Trail, spacious campsites, water and electric at sites, and there is a brand new bath house.

Beautiful park, no reservations, first come first serve, very quiet, it has a beautiful lake in the campground but fishing is not very good, the Liberty Bell pool is just a short drive away and is a huge place to swim with lifeguards and snack bar

Incredible, even though it rained all weekend.
