Remote, great fishing, well spaced, streamside, good facilities, lots of hiking opportunities. Get here early during trout season if you want a spot by the river! The restrooms are well-built & clean, and there is drinking water available at several spots in the campground. Sites are pretty close (for a USFS rec area) along the stream, but there are a few more private sites across the road. They are all well equipped with table, grill, lantern hook and large gravel pad for your stuff. Lots of hiking trails and roads run over this wilderness area once you turn off Ga Hwy 60, so you can have a lot of fun exploring. Supplies can be found in Suches and at a little store at the north/west intersection Hwy 60 and Cooper Creek Road, which actually makes a loop and so has two connecting points to 60. A nice place, in our top 5 sites in the 'Hooch. A map of the sites can be found at the USFS page http://www.fs.fed.us/conf/coopercp.htm. Note that this rec area is only open from the end of March through Halloween, which coincidentally just HAPPENS to be trout season in Georgia! Now turn off that TV, pack your stuff, and CAMP the HOOCH!
