Nice to be in park, with the shuttle service available at the entrance. But the campground itself looked upkept and sites were very uneven. Bathrooms were fine. We didn't need shower because we used the camper since we had full hookup with cable. Campground was quiet. Campstore in Village was very nice. However found it interesting that the ice at the campground registration was more expensive than at the campstore.

Expected to be packed in like sardines, but we had a very private site (end of top loop) with elk as regular morning visitors. Clean rest rooms (showers not on site but at the next-door campground)An excellent base for Grand Canyon exploration. Met or surpassed all my expectations, hence I am very comfortable giving it 5 stars.

This is a simple campground. Not somewhere you would want to stay if you were planning on spending a lot of time at camp however it is very convenient if you are there to see the canyon. This campground has been around since I was a child so everything is getting a little old. It does look like they are doing some work to fix things up a little. It has all the hookups and they have several pull-through spots. The park shuttle stops at the entrance of the campground so it's very easy to get around the park from this location. The campground is also very near a large general store with everything you might need. If you are there to see the beautiful canyon I recommend staying here but it's not a resort.
