Beautiful place to stay, have stayed one time but would love to visit there again. Nice and relaxing place. Close to beach, town and attractions but still a piece of paridise. Bathrooms were always clean. Place was kept cut. Would recommend anyone to stay there. Hoping to visit there again soon. |

Its been a few years since we have been to gulf state park. I guess with the oil spill it may be a little longer. Our last time there was before the hurricane took out most of the trees.
We loved this park. The campground was nice and the bathhouses were clean. Much cleaner than I would have expected due to the size of the park.
We really enjoyed being so close to the beach.
Would defiantly stay there again. Our last stay we stayed 8 nights and loved it.
If I had to say one bad thing it would be about the biting yellow flies. I forget what season they come out but if you plan on camping when they are in season beware. THEY HURT. Bring a screen house to use in the mornings and the evenings. These bugs are relentless and will eat you alive. You just have to know what part of the day to avoid the campground when they are out.
We camped near spring break for over a week both times we stayed here.

My husband and I have been here two years in a row for Memorial Day weekend. It's close to a beautiful beach and the campground is always clean. The bathrooms are cleaned several times a day which is nice in a place that's sandy. Prices are reasonable too. Very close to a Wal-Mart too in case you forget the sunscreen like we always do. Plenty of places to eat out too. |
