Went in October a bit chilly. the park is absolutely gorgeous. not to many other people around so the park was quiet and serene, a number of resident deer and turkey present, along with a Bald Eagle. took a ride to route 555 Elk Scenic Drive and was amazed by the number of Elk we actually did see. A must go back to park when the weather is a bit warmer....

We found this site after finding out Buckhorn was full in July 2011. Talk about a surprise. The grounds were very clean, it was quiet, kid friendly, beach, playground, nice large tent sites. Clean pottys. Getting there was kind of out of the way but it was great once there. We had a spot back in the woods and it was so peaceful. Also pet friednly!...
